What is it?

Hydrocephalus is an accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the ventricles of the brain.

Which symptoms?

Headaches, gait disturbance, memory or concentration problems — progressive symptoms that warrant specialist assessment.

Which treatments?

Treatment is surgical: placement of a ventriculo-peritoneal shunt or, in selected cases, an endoscopic third ventriculostomy — a technique in which Dr Jenny has developed particular expertise.
